Next up is Archie Owen, who joined our Finance team in April 2024.
Rate your onboarding experience. Were there any particularly helpful or challenging parts of training?
My onboarding was a smooth process. It helped that I knew a couple of people already within the business and everyone in the company was extremely welcoming from the second I walked in.
From a training perspective, I already had over three years’ experience within insurance recruitment so I had a good understanding of both recruitment processes and the insurance market. What I found most challenging was learning the new systems, but that quickly changed with the help of experienced members of the HFG team.
What aspects of the role do you find most fulfilling?
In recruitment I believe nothing is more satisfying and fulfilling than completing a full 360 deal from start to finish. To do this you’ll need to find out the client’s hiring needs / struggles and follow this up by finding suitable candidates for that position. It's then down to the candidates to secure the role, with our guidance!
How would you describe the company culture & work environment?
The company culture at HFG is really healthy as we have a good balance of both fun and knowing when to knuckle down. Outside of working hours we enjoy a wind down socialising at local pubs or doing sporting activities which ultimately gets us closer as a team and provides a chance for conversations in a relaxed environment away from the office.
Describe the team dynamics
We have a very good dynamic in the sense that no one is selfish when dealing with clients and candidates. It's a team effort and we all help each other by suggesting candidates for roles and providing colleagues with vacancies to fill so that no one is without any processes at any time.
Any highlights at the company so far?
A definite highlight has been completing my first full quarter at the company and finishing on over 200% of my sales target. It has set the bar for me now and I will look to keep improving that quarter by quarter!
Would you recommend HFG to people looking to join recruitment?
The answer is yes, I have worked at a few places now and I must say that HFG has been the most supportive and trusting company I have worked for.
The amount of recruitment experience the team at HFG can offer is outstanding and if you have any questions, you can rest assured that you will be receiving the best advice.
The expectations are there, which you are responsible for upholding, but as long as you put the work in, you will succeed!
