At HFG, we believe that the journey of each new team member is unique and worth celebrating. In our latest blog series, 'My Time at HFG’, we sit down with our new colleagues to reflect on their first few months with us.

From insights into their experience to career growth and the challenges they've faced, this series offers a look into life at HFG. Get to know the people behind the scenes!

Our third consultant is Bertie Hayward, an Associate Consultant within our Underwriting, Claims & Broking team who recently had his six month anniversary at HFG.

"After joining HFG at the end of 2022, I’m delighted to have settled in and am really enjoying my Associate Consultant position as part of the Underwriting, Claims & Broking team. During this time, I have learned several new skills and enjoy the headhunting and sourcing of candidates, whether it be via telephone or job adverts. Prior to HFG I only had a basic understanding of recruitment and after only a few months in the job, I feel I’ve developed an excellent knowledge of the industry and sector I am working and have enhanced my skillset along the way.

Being a recent business management graduate and always having a desire to make money, I believe this role is very well suited to me. My team are extremely helpful, and the workplace is somewhere I can see myself staying for the foreseeable future. Everyone at the company is great to be around and the office is the perfect mixture between hard work and a lot of laughs! I particularly enjoy the company social events which are always quirky and fun to repay their employees for their hard work, something which is strongly valued. During my time here, these have ranged from meals and drinks out, to horse racing days or immersive bingo!

To summarise, I am really enjoying my time here at HFG and am proud to have placed over ten candidates since the start of the year!  This is a big achievement for myself, and I hope to carry on performing like this throughout the rest of the year. I would certainly recommend a career in recruitment as it is enjoyable, rewarding and you get treated well for your hard work."
