Job description

HFG are currently partnering with an exciting London insurer in search for their next Senior Syndicate Accountant following significant growth within the company since launching in 2017. The role will be reporting to the Syndicate Finance Manager and will be involved in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of existing reporting practices as well as creating and developing new practices. This role offers fantastic opportunity to join a highly ambitious Finance function and obtain a real breadth of experience in a profitable fast-growing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of the financial accounting, reporting and internal controls for the Syndicate business units.
  • To support the book-keeping, recording of transactions and related tasks in support of the Syndicate Finance Manager, whilst building the knowledge and experience to be able to take on further responsibility for further accounting tasks
  • Establishing oneself as a key stakeholder in the interaction process
  • Preparation of Lloyd's returns (QMA, QMB, QSR, QAD, ASR, AAD, Overseas regulatory returns, Syndicate tax returns)
  • Support the preparation of Syndicate Annual and Underwriting Accounts.
  • Develop strong and in-depth understanding of data-flows which support the population of the General Ledger and overall financial reporting.
  • Gaining a detailed understanding of the "as at" process whilst documenting the "to be" process through the transition of the Syndicate Finance function

The suitable candidate for this role will have an excellent grasp of technical insurance transactions from a Lloyd's Insurer and have a solid grasp of accounting principles in relation to regulatory returns (QMA, QMB, QSR, QAD, ASR, AAD). Also, having analytical skills with the ability to drill into and analyse financial and underwriting data is highly beneficial.
