I'm currently recruiting for a leading Lloyd's MGA who are looking for an Assistant Underwriter to join their growing team!

An Underwriting Assistant or Assistant Underwriter with 1-3 years experience in handling Commercial Combined business would be the ideal candidate, but my client is also open to people from a broking background too.

This role will be handling New Business within the London/SE Region and is a great opportunity for someone looking to eventually progress to a Trading Underwriter position.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite low-complexity new business quotes across all products within the company's underwriting scope, addressing inquiries and ensuring adherence to established SLA timelines.
• Proactively engage with brokers on released new business quotes, discussing potential adjustments to secure the business.
• Collaborate regularly with Trading Underwriters, Team Leaders, and Trading Managers to strengthen and maintain broker relationships.
• Work effectively within the team to meet SLA commitments and deliver exceptional customer service to brokers.
• Handle broker phone inquiries with professionalism and a friendly demeanor.
• Adhere to underwriting authority limits, utilising the Underwriting Guide for guidance, and consulting senior colleagues when needed for a collaborative approach.
• Take proactive steps to improve workflows and contribute to achieving broader corporate objectives.
• Ensure compliance with Group trading entity standards and maintain alignment with Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles to deliver positive outcomes for clients.
