Job description

A market leading Lloyd's & London Market insurer that is going through a significant change to their target operating model is looking to add to it's FP&A function with an experienced Expense Business Partner. This is a highly visible role that will manage and develop a team of seven and will contribute to the ongoing effective communication of the expense planning of various business units.

  • Own the delivery of the annual expense budget and quarterly forecasting process
  • To actively engage in the expense allocation process and trigger process - to ensure full alignment across the business and actuals / planning scenarios
  • Appropriate commentary to be provided within the annual budget and forecast templates as delivered to the business
  • Deliver & own business planning and Lloyds SBF requirements
  • Reviewing and ensuring delivery of expense MI to key stakeholders and working with them to provide suitable commentary and where appropriate approval in a timely and professional manner as suitable for the report type and audience.
  • Review current Expense Planning capability and offering and develop a strategy to implement an improved capability and offering - giving a robust and value adding planning capability to meet the future requirements of the organisation
  • Ensure Long Term Plan / Medium Term Plan reporting & outputs are aligned to future requirements of the group and partner with wider business to effect required changes.
  • Appropriate assignment of responsibilities within the team to meet overall objectives.
  • Ensure that people are deployed and developed to anticipate and meet current and future needs as well as supporting individual career progression
  • Ensure that all employees have the knowledge and the skills necessary to perform effectively in their given roles and responsibilities
  • Work closely & collaboratively with the expense actuals manager (and team) to ensure alignment of outputs and synergies where possible.
  • Ensure dependencies, deliverables and the impact of the teams process & outputs are fully understood across finance & wider business through effective business partnering
  • Own, manage & support the delivery of local expense projects (both Actuals & Planning) to ensure they align to group requirements and are compatible with BAU processes

You will ideally be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong coaching and leadership skills. You will need to have worked in a business partnering role preciously, ideally with experience in the Lloyd's Market. A background of finance process improvement in regards to expenses would be highly advantageous.
