HFG are currently recruiting for a Lloyd's MGA who are seeking 4 Development Underwriters in the commercial combined space across different locations in the South West region including:

➔ Chelmsford/Ipswich/Norwich
➔ Exeter/Bristol
➔ South Wales/Shropshire
➔ Gloucester/Wiltshire

These roles will be solely new business focused and the successful candidate should have experience in the SME - Mid Market Property and Casualty space.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a book of new business and broker relationships, focusing on opportunities and trading.
• Onsite Broker Visits and Underwriting Surgeries.
• Escalation point for Key Broker Partners.
• Reviewing and underwriting of new business quotations across all products within our underwriting appetite including any queries within the SLA's of the business.
• Regular communication with the Business Development Managers to develop and maintain broker relationships.
• Act as a referral point for underwriters within the Team.
• Work closely and effectively with the underwriting team to ensure that all work is completed within SLA's and to maintain broker relationships by offering a high level of customer service.
• Operate in accordance within the Underwriting License given and use the Underwriting Guide and collaborative with senior colleagues.
• Take initiative, within the context of the role, to improve work processes and promote overall corporate goals.
• Home Based with occasional visits to London Office when necessary.
