I am currently recruiting for an Insurer who are seeking a Claims Manager to join their expanding team.

This role won't be a handling claims as such, but will be more on the analytical/data side of things so they are looking for someone who has strong technical knowledge in the claims space who can analyze, manage and understand data. It will also entail TPA Management, so someone with these skills is beneficial. My client handles 4 products based around Liability, so a strong background in EL, PL, Products is needed for this role too.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently handle the referral of complex claims and those meeting program criteria, monitoring them closely.
  • Inform interested parties and management of new claims and major loss movements as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the actuarial team to provide detailed information for establishing claim specific IBNRs.
  • Supervise the analysis of claims performance against forecasts, ensuring alignment with expectations.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews for new opportunities, including travel as needed.
  • Address and resolve MGA claims audit findings with MGAs/TPAs, providing feedback to the audit team.
  • Support the Compliance Manager in addressing claim-related complaints.
  • Cultivate relationships with external parties relevant to each case.
  • Monitor the entire Claims book, focusing on accurate reserving, cost control, proactive management, and exceptional customer service.
  • Evaluate Claims resources, plan for future needs, and oversee recruitment efforts.
  • Ensure completion of Claims Quality Audit, Peer Review, and other governance processes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular appraisals with Team Leaders to provide feedback, support their development, and address any complex HR issues.
