On Thursday 9th July, 8 HFG staff took to the streets of London’s square mile to compete in the Standard Chartered Great City Race 2015.
Just under 5,000 people ran the race in very muggy and warm conditions, making the 5km course more of a challenge than first thought.
£10 of each competitor’s entry fee was donated to the Standard Chartered’s beneficiary – Seeing is Believing, raising over £50,000 on entries alone, plus more made through individual sponsorship.
HFG’s Head of Marketing Mei Ling Reddaway commented, “The Standard Chartered Great City Race is one of the best organised runs in the City. It has always been quite competitive and as a flat route is also a good run to get a 5km personal best time on. As well as supporting charity, the run proves to be a great team building exercise – not to mention providing probably the best goody bag and medal as a reward to completing it!”
Well done to Joel Westley from our Technical Insurance team who completed it in 23 minutes and 17 seconds – we’re all now looking to smash our PBs at next year’s race!
