HFG Cricket League 2014

The HFG City Cricket League entered its third season in 2014 where 10 teams participated from across the Insurance and Financial services market.

Despite a damp end to the summer, 48 20/20 matches were played at venues such as Regent’s Park and Parliament Hill. All teams entered into the spirit of the League and at points the matches were closely contested – often going down to the very last over. Ultimately however, two consistent teams emerged and the stage was set for the grand final between Towers Watson and Barnett Waddingham. A closely fought game saw eventual victory for Towers Watson, who won by 23 runs for the fourth successive year.

The League caters to a range of ability levels from Have-a-Go heroes, to ex County Cricket stars. Primarily, the HFG Cricket League is aimed at cultivating healthy competition as well as fostering a sense of team spirit between friends and colleagues through the medium of sport.

The season culminates annually with our charity cricket dinner and prize presentation, at which we raised £480 for Spinal Research as well as Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

HFG always welcome new teams to join us for the next season, if you would like to find out more please do not hesitate to get in touch.
