Supported by the non stop advice from Team HFG and an opportunity to look at shots and putts that a professional wouldn’t normally see, Richard went into the EuroPro competition confident and looking forward to improving on Wednesday’s score of -4. Two solid days (-6, -2) set him up nicely going into the final day as tournament leader and well positioned to secure his first EuroPro victory. The final day saw a big increase in the crowds and the course members were out in force to watch some professional golf and see how the professionals would approach the
course. Richard was solid throughout the round edging further away from the field and even the bogey on 18 couldn’t stop him securing victory with a score of -7 for the day and -15 over the three days. The presentation ceremony was a pleasure to watch as he collected the trophy, a good cheque to start the year and entertained the crowd with his Sky Sports interview!
