Job description

A London Market insurer with a global presence is looking for an Expense Business Partner to join the team following a successful period of growth. With offices in 8 countries and over 500 employees, you'll be joining one of the longest established businesses in the London Market. In this role you will have direct interaction with senior management and department heads while owning production of expense budgets and quarterly expense reporting. This will mean the candidate will need to be a confident communicator and have the ability to develop strong relationships with senior staff across various functions. In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Quarterly review with budget holders to ensure YTD expenditure and accrual/prepayment decisions are appropriate
  • Put together suitable reporting of expense composition and commentary on variances
  • Allocation of approved budgets and actual expenses down to the required class level for the purposes of management review
  • Explaining variances and the reporting of initial early sights of GAAP and YOA reported expenses through to final actual external reporting
  • Producing required expense reporting within the Syndicate Business Plan (SBF)
  • Ensuring the allocation process is transparent, well understood and agreed with the key stakeholders
  • Tracking the development of the ultimate expense forecasts, to ensure it is updated with actual experience and updated expectations
  • Presentations to senior management of the budget with clear analysis.

To be considered for this role you should have experience in the Insurance market, ideally within Lloyd's, with previous experience in an expense focused role. An analytical approach with a good understanding of expense controls and processes is required. A qualified accountant or someone studying their accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred but not essential
