Women in Insurance

HFG WII Logohave always supported diversity within the insurance industry.  Historically the insurance industry has been built and established predominantly through a veritable network of ‘boys clubs’, therefore HFG identified that there was a need to provide a network for the female workforce to come together to offer support, networking and advice away from the office environment.

Our events consist of two speakers from the insurance industry, a charity raffle and networking session – all held in a convenient venue in the heart of the insurance industry.  The event provides an opportunity to gain an insight into the careers of two senior level insurance professionals and also the ability to network with colleagues and peers.

PREVIOUS EVENT: Tuesday 8th March – International Women’s Day, Davy’s Wine Bar Plantation Place

We were pleased to welcome the following speakers to our event.

KByrne_3992Kathy Byrne – Managing Director

Outside the insurance world, she was involved in setting up a new savings business from scratch and is a Non-Executive Director of Alpasión Vineyard in Mendoza, Argentina.

Kathy discussed her career path through insurance and how she has overcome any challenges along the way.

Matthew Maddocks – Head of Underwriting Strategy
Sirius Group

Having worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years, Mat has worked in a variety of Lloyd’s Syndicates in an actuarial and underwriting capacity.
